Style: Gothic/Renaissance Revival, pierced finials, scrolled arms, trestle base, pierced seats

Period: Mid-to-late 19th century (foundry active c.1840s–1898)

Provenance: from the Estate of Dr. Peter Elwood Dorsett, New Orleans, Louisiana.

SS Bent & Son, Port Chester, NY was known for architectural cast iron, fireplace surrounds, heat registers, stable fittings, and feeding troughs. Garden furniture bearing the Bent mark is uncommon, making this pair a rare documented example of their ornamental output.
